Production of ROTEN mechanical seals began in 1945 in Milan by LABORATORIO ELETTROMECCANICA DI PRECISIONE Carlo Fontanella, later renamed ROTEN srl. The name ROTEN comes from the abbreviations RO = "rotate" and TEN = "seal". In 1957, ROTEN patented its first mechanical seal, the ROTEN 2, which is still manufactured and sold by millions of units worldwide. In 1970, the Roten 3 SEAL model was patented, which is one of the most common of the brand's line. Today, the Roten team has more than 200 qualified employees, production is carried out on numerically controlled machines and robotic assembly systems.
