It is the most efficient heat recovery medium for regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTO) and is used in a wide variety of configurations, allowing units to be specifically designed to maximize thermal efficiency or prevent clogging, or to minimize bed height or pressure drop for heat storage. Thermal oxidation furnaces reduce the maximum operating costs.
