Multistage pumps of vertical and horizontal design are designed to increase the pressure in water supply systems, water supply over long distances, for use in filtration systems, high pressure washers, irrigation, firefighting and more.
The multi-stage design avoids large dynamic loads on the shaft and impeller, as the pressure increases gradually as water moves from one impeller to the next.
In horizontal multistage pumps of low power, the impellers are located on the cantilever shaft, so the number of impellers is usually no more than 4-5 pieces.
Vertical multistage pumps have plain bearings along the length of the shaft, so the number of impellers can be from 3 to 33 pieces, respectively, they create a pressure of up to 25 bar.
