The R-109B mechanical seal is single, independent of the direction of shaft rotation, and balanced. A set of small springs ensures uniform load distribution in the friction pair. Type R-109B, thanks to the use of PTFE sealing elements, is used in particularly difficult (corrosive, high-temperature) operating conditions. It is used at temperatures from -50 to + 200°C, with pressures up to 5.2 MPa and rotation speeds up to 25 m/sec.
